Ikonowerk came to be in 2000 when Canadian artist Christopher Krupey needed to pretend his music was associated to a record label. Because back then, being independent meant you weren't serious. Ikonowerk's "brand" first appear on Christopher's debut album "wer Next Projekt" and proactively deceived the music business for over a decade.
As the old adage goes, "fake it until you make it," Ikonowerk branched out to encompass Photography, Design, Soundtrack composition, Music Licensing and Publishing.
His wife Lana is a partner that creates the numerous visuals for Ikonowerk projects under the sister-concept Ikonorchid. Art includes releases for "The Red River Riot," "No Souls in Manchester," "Christopher" and other works-for-hire.
Ikonowerk is made up word that looks fancy and serious. Esoteric with a dash of Germanic flair to imply the creation of something sacred.
But as his mother says, "It sounds like 'I kind of work'" which is also true. You can find the gamer-tag Ikonowerk on the Playstation Network.
